In order to further promote the revitalization of rural art and shape the brand of local culture,  China Sculpture Institute is now organizing and planning to carry out the “Xianjing Art Village Symbolic Sculpture” solicitation activity. Taking Xunzhong town, Dehua County, Quanzhou City, Fujian province as the core planning area, the event aims to refine cultural symbols through sculpture language, activate public participation, and help the development and transformation of sculpture derivatives.

A global range of creative artists and designers (regardless of nationality, age, gender, background)

Submitted content:
Sculpture design plan (including creative instructions, material suggestions, size suggestions, etc.)
Creative direction:
The combination of the natural environment, Dehua County Ceramic culture, folk resources and future development orientation of the Xianjing Art Village to reflect the artistic, cultural and symbolic characteristics is encouraged.
The design should have the feasibility of both artistic expression and public landing, and have the potential of brand communication and the foundation of sculpture derivatives development.

1.Announcement of the call for submissions and Preliminary review meeting
To determine 20 shortlisted solicited works through expert review
2.Re-review meeting
The shortlisted artists optimize the proposals according to experts’ opinions and make maquette sculptures (25-50 cm) .
All artists who enter the re-review stage and complete the maquette sculpture production will be awarded the exhibition certificate issued by China Sculpture Institute. The costs of making the maquette and sending it to the exhibition site are covered by the artist, and the cost of returning it after the exhibition is covered by China Sculpture Institute.
Organize experts to re-evaluate and finally select 1 symbolic sculpture.
3.Material transformation and development
The selected artists must agree to the development of their work, and China Sculpture Institute is responsible for coordinating the production and supervision. The work will be made of Dehua County White Porcelain and transformed with local ceramic techniques.
4.Press release and exhibition
Opening ceremony

Authors must send the filled electronic registration form, images of the proposed exhibition works, creation description, personal photo, and scanned copies of their passports to the designated Organizing Committee email csionline@csin.org.cn before Sep 25, 2025.
Please use the title “Author’s name + name of work” for the subject line. If you submit more than one work, please send a unified mail, each work is packaged separately into a compressed file (folder ZIP format).

The final selection of symbolic sculpture will sign a separate agreement with the organizer and obtain a pre-tax payment of RMB 100,000.
(VI)Intellectual Property Protection
1.The projects submitted by the participating authors must not infringe on the patent rights, copyright, trademark rights, reputation rights, or any other legal rights of third parties.
2.The exhibition organizer and guiding units have the right to publish and distribute a compilation of the exhibition projects and to use them for charitable purposes.
